Clear Seas, in partnership with the Angus Reid Institute, conducted its fourth biennial study in its public opinion series measuring the perceptions of Canadians towards the marine shipping industry. This latest edition of the nationwide poll builds on the benchmark studies conducted in 2016, 2018 and 2020.
In 2022, the poll took into consideration the supply chain crunch created by global events such as the rising cost of living, the war in Ukraine and the COVID-19 pandemic, and the impact it might have had on Canadians’ overall awareness and perceptions of marine shipping and the role it plays in the supply network.
The Shipping Confidence Index was measured for a second time to highlight how the different viewpoints towards shipping evolved in recent years.
