New Digests on the BC Ministry of Environment Marine Oil Spill Prevention, Preparedness, Response and Recovery Report

Share

As shipping volumes increase on Canada’s West Coast, the government of BC has a vested interest in better understanding the risks particularly associated with increased ship-based oil movements.

Clear Seas Centre for Responsible Marine Shipping (Clear Seas) has released a series of 3 digests on the BC Ministry of Environment report entitled “Marine Oil Spill Prevention, Preparedness, Response and Recovery: World-Leading Approaches from Select Jurisdictions”. Each digest deals with a specific aspect of the province’s report: Preparedness, Response & Recovery, Prevention Systems, and System Element Examples.

As shipping volumes increase on Canada’s West Coast, and with further major marine transportation projects anticipated for BC ports, the government of British Columbia has a vested interest in better understanding the risks particularly associated with increased ship-based oil movements.

Clear Seas has made these 3 report digests available to the public in an effort to make impartial, evidence-based information about marine shipping accessible to Canadians. Digests on other reports pertinent to Canada’s marine shipping industry can be found under Clear Seas Resources.
