Paul Blomerus promoted to CEO; Sarah Thomas promoted to COO
Vancouver, BC, October 15, 2025 — The Board of Directors of Clear Seas is pleased to announce it has approved two promotions in the leadership team, effective September 25, 2025. In recognition of his leadership over the past five years, Paul Blomerus has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer. Under Paul’s leadership, Clear Seas has built a reputation for providing trusted insights for decision-makers and creating impactful programs that strengthen relationships with Indigenous communities and support safe and sustainable marine practices.
Sarah Thomas also joins the executive leadership team, having been promoted to Chief Operating Officer after five years of dedicated service to Clear Seas. Sarah brings deep experience in communications and program delivery and has played a pivotal role in advancing Clear Seas’ Indigenous programs, research, and relationships. In her new role, she will oversee the success of Clear Seas’ programs, knowledge mobilization, people, and relationships.
