Our Team

From seasoned industry veterans to innovative minds, our team brings various skills and perspectives to promote marine shipping and traditional knowledge from coast to coast through the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence.

Board of Directors

Clear Seas’ diverse and experienced board of directors includes members of First Nations, the public sector, port authorities, the scientific community, and marine-related industries. They present a wide range of experience in the human, environmental and economic issues related to shipping on Canada’s oceans, coastlines, lakes, and waterways.

Research Advisory Committee

Clear Seas’ Research Advisory Committee (RAC) supports the organization in defining and delivering our research program. With individuals from diverse backgrounds, including Indigenous, academia, and the maritime industry from different regions across North America, the RAC members contribute valuable insights on the relevance and timeliness of research projects.

Drawing on their unique experiences and perspectives, RAC members provide strategic advice to support Clear Seas in achieving an impactful research portfolio for better decisions on key marine shipping issues.

Indigenous Advisory Network

The Indigenous Advisory Network brings together respected Indigenous leaders to guide our work on Canada’s oceans and coasts. These leaders ensure our research, programs, and engagement reflect the knowledge and priorities of Indigenous communities, helping shape safe, sustainable, and respectful marine stewardship.
