Clear Seas a demand\u00e9 \u00e0 Vard Marine Inc. d\u2019examiner les capacit\u00e9s n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 un seul remorqueur d\u2019urgence pour porter assistance \u00e0 un navire en d\u00e9tresse d\u00e9rivant sur la c\u00f4te pacifique du Canada. L\u2019analyse, qui fait partie du projet de Clear Seas <a href=\"https:\/\/clearseas.org\/research\/occurrences-and-mitigation-of-loss-of-control-events-onboard-ships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sur les corridors de transport maritime<\/a>, a pour but d\u2019informer les d\u00e9cideurs, les professionnels de l\u2019intervention et le public sur les capacit\u00e9s \u00e9tendues requises pour pouvoir r\u00e9pondre aux sc\u00e9narios de remorquage d\u2019urgence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le rapport d\u00e9crit les caract\u00e9ristiques souhaitables pour les remorqueurs capables d\u2019op\u00e9rer en haute mer, et conclut que des remorqueurs d\u2019urgence de grande taille et puissants sont n\u00e9cessaires pour faire face aux conditions difficiles au large de la c\u00f4te pacifique.
