Ce projet rep\u00e9rera des risques et des dangers potentiels et observ\u00e9s, pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s par les grands navires commerciaux exploit\u00e9s ou transitant dans les eaux au large de la Colombie-Britannique. Ces renseignements \u00e9claireront l\u2019\u00e9laboration d\u2019options dans diff\u00e9rentes r\u00e9gions du Canada en vue d\u2019assurer des op\u00e9rations maritimes plus s\u00fbres et plus efficaces, et qui tiennent compte du besoin de pr\u00e9server l\u2019environnement. Dans le cadre de ce projet, un contrat sera attribu\u00e9 \u00e0 un centre des op\u00e9rations existant, dot\u00e9 de personnel 24 heures sur 24, 7 jours sur 7, pour la surveillance en temps r\u00e9el des signaux, terrestres ou re\u00e7us par satellite, d\u2019un syst\u00e8me d\u2019identification automatique (SIA) provenant de ces navires commerciaux. Ce centre aura \u00e9galement pour fonction de documenter des \u00e9v\u00e9nements \u00e0 risque \u00e9lev\u00e9 en vue d\u2019une analyse ult\u00e9rieure qui servira \u00e0 \u00e9laborer des recommandations pour une politique d\u2019att\u00e9nuation des risques visant \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer les syst\u00e8mes de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 des navires au
