L\u2019objectif actuel \u00e0 long terme est align\u00e9 sur l\u2019objectif de 1,5\u202f\u00b0C de l\u2019Accord de Paris. \u00c0 la lumi\u00e8re de la strat\u00e9gie de d\u00e9carbonation du secteur, cette recherche explore dans quelle mesure la r\u00e9alisation de ces objectifs permettra \u00e9galement de r\u00e9duire les \u00e9missions de polluants nocifs \u2013 tels que les oxydes de soufre (SO<sub>x<\/sub>), les oxydes d\u2019azote (NO<sub>x<\/sub>), les mati\u00e8res particulaires (MP2,5) et les compos\u00e9s organiques volatils (COV) \u2013 et, par ricochet, d\u2019am\u00e9liorer la sant\u00e9 des communaut\u00e9s c\u00f4ti\u00e8res et portuaires au Canada. Pour r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 cette question, le projet \u00e9labore un cadre de mod\u00e9lisation int\u00e9gr\u00e9 qui relie l\u2019analyse des politiques, la mod\u00e9lisation des \u00e9missions et de la qualit\u00e9 de l\u2019air, et l\u2019analyse des r\u00e9percussions sur la sant\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019\u00e9quipe de recherche a men\u00e9 une enqu\u00eate aupr\u00e8s d\u2019experts multisectoriels sur les futures voies de d\u00e9carbonation pour l\u2019industrie du transport maritime. Ces avis d\u2019experts permettront d\u2019\u00e9laborer des sc\u00e9narios d\u2019\u00e9missions futures de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre et d\u2019autres polluants atmosph\u00e9riques provenant des navires afin d\u2019am\u00e9liorer les outils de mod\u00e9lisation de la qualit\u00e9 de l\u2019air au Canada. Le projet comprenait \u00e9galement un sous-projet financ\u00e9 par MITACS sur l\u2019\u00e9laboration de politiques de r\u00e9duction des \u00e9missions de m\u00e9thane. Ce sous-projet a permis de cerner et d\u2019\u00e9valuer des mesures et des politiques strat\u00e9giques visant \u00e0 r\u00e9duire le glissement de m\u00e9thane sur les navires aliment\u00e9s au GNL.<\/p>\n\n\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"research-project-inner-section align wp-block-acf-tu-research-project-inner-section\">\n\t<h2 class=\"h4 inner-section-title\" data-aos=\"fade-left\">Principale conclusion<\/h2>\n\t<div data-aos=\"fade-up\" data-aos-delay=\"250\">\n\t\t\n\n<p>La d\u00e9carbonation du transport maritime offre des co-b\u00e9n\u00e9fices potentiels en ce qui touche l\u2019am\u00e9lioration de la qualit\u00e9 de l\u2019air dans les communaut\u00e9s c\u00f4ti\u00e8res. Toutefois, il existe \u00e9galement des strat\u00e9gies visant \u00e0 r\u00e9duire la pollution atmosph\u00e9rique li\u00e9e au transport maritime qui peuvent avoir des r\u00e9percussions impr\u00e9vues sur les \u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre.
