data-aos=\"fade-up\" data-aos-delay=\"250\">\n\t\t\n\n<p>Les technologies qui soutiennent l\u2019utilisation du GNL comme carburant marin sont \u00e9prouv\u00e9es et il n\u2019existe aucune barri\u00e8re technologie emp\u00eachant l\u2019utilisation du GNL dans les conditions arctiques. La faisabilit\u00e9 \u00e9conomique du GNL d\u00e9pend de la diff\u00e9rence de prix entre le gaz naturel et le p\u00e9trole, en raison de la p\u00e9riode requise pour amortir le co\u00fbt des syst\u00e8mes au GNL \u2013 nouveaux ou convertis \u2013 \u00e0 bord des navires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La capacit\u00e9 du GNL \u00e0 r\u00e9duire la pollution de l\u2019air et de l\u2019eau peut entra\u00eener l\u2019augmentation de son utilisation en tant que carburant marin, au regard des r\u00e9glementations actuelles et futures telles que <a href=\"https:\/\/tc.canada.ca\/en\/corporate-services\/transparency\/briefing-documents-transport-canada\/20191120\/international-maritime-organization-consideration-proposed-ban-heavy-fuel-oil-arctic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">l\u2019interdiction de mazouts lourds<\/a> dans l\u2019Arctique. Les avantages environnementaux du GNL incluent la r\u00e9duction du risque de d\u00e9versement d\u2019hydrocarbures et des \u00e9missions de dioxyde de carbone (CO2), d\u2019oxydes de soufre (SOX), d\u2019oxydes d\u2019azote (NOX), de mati\u00e8res particulaires et de carbone noir. En revanche, les \u00e9missions de m\u00e9thane, un puissant gaz \u00e0 effet de serre \u00e0 court terme, augmentent. Le changement dans le seuil du potentiel de r\u00e9chauffement climatique, sur 100 ans, des \u00e9missions d\u2019\u00e9quivalent-CO2 dans l\u2019Arctique canadien, associ\u00e9 aux diff\u00e9rents sc\u00e9narios de mise en \u0153uvre \u00e9tudi\u00e9s dans le cadre du projet, d\u00e9pend de la technologie moteur utilis\u00e9e. Des avantages limit\u00e9s, voire nuls, sont associ\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019utilisation de moteurs \u00e0 hautes \u00e9missions de m\u00e9thane plus communs, alors qu\u2019une r\u00e9duction des \u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre pouvant atteindre jusqu\u2019\u00e0 29% est associ\u00e9e aux moteurs \u00e0 faibles \u00e9missions de m\u00e9thane, moins
